Oka spoke with Environment Analyst in their recent article covering new multi-sector research by Gallagher, a global risk management and insurance firm, the quantifies the reliance on carbon offsets among large UK businesses.
Oka told Environment Analyst, it estimates that fewer than 1% of companies buying carbon offsets have carbon insurance.
The article also shares Oka’s insight from a survey by Conservation International, that similarly revealed almost all US, UK and EU corporates see offsets as valuable, but share the risk-induced fear expressed by those in the Gallagher survey.
